چکیده

In this article, a novel convexification approach for small-signal stability constraint optimal power flow has been presented that does not rely on eigenvalue analysis. The proposed methodology is based the sufficient condition stability, developed as bilinear matrix inequality (BMI), and uses network structure-preserving differential algebraic equation modeling of system. formulation semidefinite programming objective penalization feasible solution recovery, making method computationally efficient large-scale systems. A vector-norm penalty function also recovery while working over large dense BMIs with variables. An effectiveness study carried out WECC 9-bus, New England 39-bus, IEEE 118-bus test systems shows capable achieving stable equilibrium point without inflicting high stability-induced additional cost.

Stability-Constrained Optimal Power Flow

Stability is an important constraint in power system operation. Often trial and error heuristics are used that can be costly and imprecise. A new methodology that eliminates the need for repeated simulation to determine a transiently secure operating point is presented. The theoretical development is straightfforward: dynamic equations are converted to numerically equivalent algebraic equations...

Transient Stability Constrained Optimal Power Flow Using Evolutionary Programming

This paper presents an application of evolution programming (EP), which has no limitation on objective function, for transient stability constrained optimal power flow (TSCOPF) problem. Swing equation and limit of rotor angle deviation with respect to centre of inertia (COI) are treated as additional constraints in transient stability concern. The generator fuel cost minimization is selected as...

Solving Transient-stability Constrained Optimal Power Flow Problems

The paper extends our pervious work on solving multi-contingency transient stability constrained optimal power flow problems (MC-TSCOPF) with the approach of particles swarm optimization (PSO). A hybrid PSO method that incorporates with a new wavelet theory based mutation operation, intends to improve the searching strategies on previously used PSO methods, is proposed to solve MC-TSCOPF proble...

Modelling and Simulation of Low-Head Hydro Turbine for Small Signal Stability Analysis in Power System

The hydro turbine dynamics have a considerable influence on the dynamic stability of power system. In the study of dynamic stability, the system is modeled by the linear differential equations (small  signal analysis). Small signal stability of power systems is needed in all conditions and only is dependent on the conditions of power system performance before commotion occurrence. This paper pr...

Transient Stability Constrained Optimal Power Flow Using Improved Particle Swarm Optimization Approach

Stability is an important constraint in power system operation; the transient stability constrained optimal power flow (TSCOPF) has a considerable attention in recent years. The solution obtained from the conventional optimal power flow (OPF), which considers only the static constraints, does not guarantee transient stability in the system against possible contingencies such as line fault. In t...
